Banding

We have run all diagnostics/cleaning procedures on printer and are still getting banding(darker on edges of prints and gets lighter as it gets to the center)... the person running the printer has allowed the prints to touch the floor and in turn causing the vynil to fold upwards, touching the print heads and distorting the ink... Is there a chance the printer is somehow "broken" for good considering this happened over 150 times..??

I can't advise without an issue image. From what you have explained, it seems you should load the media using the TUR which will improve the media deformation and therefore the printhead health.
