Excess Voltage

#1 airplanegraphics 7 months ago

I got an error code today : 14.75:01 which indicates the curing regulator's voltage is too high. Called HP tech support and they told me I needed the voltage from the outlets to be in spec. I checked the manual, the HP Latex 315 user manual sent to me directly from HP tech support says it can be up to 264V. I was getting a reading of 244V, so that's in spec for the printer, correct? WRONG. HP told me the outlets need to read under 240. Since its 2 120V outlets...that means there's apparently no room for error, which is difficult with electricity.

HP told me if they sent someone out today, they would have to up and leave since the voltage is over 240...Was the support tech misinformed? The spec in the user guide says up to 264? What am I missing here? Anyone have ideas or ever seen this error code? do I need something to regulate the power? I really don't want to get an electrician out here. This has never been a problem so I feel like something in the printer is malfunctioning. Any ideas are welcome!

The printer is 5 years old. No power surges have happened that I am aware of. The printer was off for 4 days and this is what I turned it on to

Hi @airplanegraphics,

As per the attached screenshot, the specs are 200-240 +/- 10%, which means an absolute range between 180 and 264V. The same is reflected in the SM, which is intended for the support engineers.

The specs show that the voltage range is 200–240V +/– 10%, which means it can be anywhere from 180V to 264V. The same thing shows up in the SM, which is meant for the support workers.
