HP 365 certified textile colors run

#1 weldon6211 4 years ago

We have 2 rolls from Fisher Textiles part numbers 8874 and 7110, both of which have profiles that are HP certified on our printer. The problem is that when we print using the above fabric and profile, the print quality is amazing, however once you take the finished product and get it wet, the colors either run or they will smear when rubbed against. Not sure why this is happening, I was told that with this printer once the job finishes the print that it is ready for use. Please help!

HP Latex printers are pigment-based, and do not use dye sublimation inks. For washable fabric printing onto polyester fabric, HP just announced the Stitch series printers, which are dye sublimation.

With HP Latex printers, there are a range of what are termed Durable Textiles that (in the case of DuraVibe textiles) offer the ability to be washed, but post-print heat fixation in a press or calendar is strongly recommended for best results when washing. These fabrics are not intended for clothing, but are a great fit for decor-based applications.
