HP Latex 335 gradually adds media skew

#1 Volas 5 days ago

Hello. Our HP Latex 335 always gradually increases the skew of the print media. At first, after alignment, it is not very noticeable, but it increases significantly during long printing. No matter how we load the roll, no matter how we eliminate the skew, any actions with the movement of the material gradually skew it. It looks like there is more material release on one side. At the same time, printing works well, but in some cases the skew gives a noticeable diamond-shaped effect on the result. We ourselves have never serviced the machine. This has always been done by a specialist. Unfortunately, he is not with us now. Now we need to understand whether we can cope with this problem with our own means, if it is something insignificant like cleaning, or we definitely need a specialist who is difficult to find in our location. The information on the Internet was not enough for us, or we are not very good at searching... We don't speak English well enough. I will be glad of any help

#1 Hey, sounds like a classic media advance issue. On the Latex 335, skew during long prints usually means either the encoder strip or the pinch rollers are dirty or worn. Try cleaning the encoder strip and the pinch rollers with lint-free cloth and distilled water. Also check that the edge holders are in place and the media tension is even across the roll. If it keeps skewing after that, the media advance motor or sensor might need calibration or service that’s harder to do without a tech. But definitely start with a deep clean, it often helps a lot.
