HP Latex 560 printing crisp clean Bar Codes

HP Latex 560 Printer

We cant get barcodes to print cleanly, if the bars on the codes are parallel to roll feed direction we get a pretty decent result, although im thinking it should be better (assuming we are getting 1200 dpi across the roll). If the bars are perpendicular to the roll feed they are unusable (assuming thats 600 dpi). Some files have the codes running in both directions so rotation of the page is not an option.

The codes are Illustrator generated PDFs and are vector.

The paper is Legacy Universal Satin 8 mil From Sanoma Graphics products.

Work flow is 18 pass 120% ink density off of caldera.

Hello @karl.jennex

If the barcodes with parallel bars are fine, then the media advance is properly calibrated. On the other hand, if barcodes with perpendicular bars are being printed bad, then the problem could be in the Printhead.

You would need to perform a printhead alignment and also check for any damage to them.
