Marks Exceed Sheet Size

#1 michael.scott.sticker.co 2 years ago

Hello, I am having issues with a print and cut job. I load the media and when it attempts to read the registration marks it says "Marks exceed sheet size. I have used this media and cut without problems in the past. I have tried increasing the margins and reprinting. I have tried moving the pinch rollers. I have tried extended load. Nothing seems to work and I now have 2 large printed and laminated medias that can't be cut. Does anyone have a solution? HP Basic Plus (summa) 54" cutter.

Mines just started doing the same thing. I’m googling now to find a resolution to the problem

Hi @michael.scott.sticker.co,

Check that the media loaded in the printer has the same width as the media on the RIP. Also, if you cut using the barcode, make sure to print with the barcode id and check if it's the same as the one from the cutter front panel. I hope this helps.

This "Marks Exceed Sheet Size" popup whenever the cutter detect cutting file bigger than actual width and length of the sheet. In most cases, by just turning off the Autoload function solve the issue, it's work because it bypass the length check. Sometimes incorrect setting of cutter can lead to that error, so just change new User on cutter to verify it is the software issue or not. Just to make sure the registration marks is inside the pinch roller as least 0.5cm and the back of the sheet have enough ~4cm for cutter to able to read the last 2 marks. Hope this can help you and any people facing the same problem.

Marks exceed sheet size

Marks that exceed the sheet size in an HP printer can be caused by a few different things. One possible cause is that the printer's rollers or print head are dirty and need to be cleaned. Another possible cause is that the printer's software settings are not configured correctly and need to be adjusted. In some cases, the issue may be caused by a mechanical problem with the printer, such as a malfunctioning roller or print head.
