Print starts clears - Turns grainy/fuzzy. Repeats each new image - HP365

#1 TUPSS Print 2 years ago

HP Latex 365, printing on various adhesive vinyls ands (and HP Professional Photogloss as a test). The attached picture is a matte adhesive vinyl.

When printing each image starts clear then turns fuzzy after about .5 inches. This repeats on each image (for instance, printing multiple rows of the same file.) The leading edge of each image will be clear/correct color then quickly deteriorate into fuzzy/grainy.

Most of the time the prints deteriorate in several distinct "bands" as in the attached picture. Sometimes it is a smoother gradient. These problems seem to occur mostly with light colors (Light Magenta, Light Cyan) and are much less pronounced or not perceivable when printing something like solid black.

Steps taken (to no effect): Trying different substrates Trying different Presets Change Print Heads New ink cartridges (any that were somewhat low) Printhead Alignments Optimize Print Quality On Latest Firmware Version

Hi @TUPSS Print,

Please check if the Media Advance is working properly. Steps to follow:

Go to Settings>Image-quality maintenance>Substrate Advance Calibration>Print Plot

Once the job has finished, note the correct value and follow the steps indicated in the front panel (go to substrate library and introduce de media advance factor value in the desired print mode).

#1 maybe try to reduce the vacuum settings and use the pick up roller. it looks as if the substrate gets sucked in and creates valleys where the color is sprayed on instead of printed.
