Printer response very slow

#1 faridsk 2 years ago

I have a Latex 310. Recently the printer has become very slow to responding on any actions whether it is a click on the continue button on the touch screen of the printer or the printer changing to the next screen when an action gets completed. Is there a Cache or something that I need to clear on the printer. I have tried hard restart of the printer several times but that hasn't helped.

Hi @faridsk,

My suggestion is to reflash the FW, and if this action doesn´t help, please contact your support representative in order to check the front panel.

If your printer is positioned far away from the network device, it may print more slowly. Especially wireless printing or if connected to an old fashioned 'hub'. Speed things up by moving your printer closer to the router/switch/etc., or plug it directly into your primary switching.

#2 What does reflash the FW mean? How do I do that?

My printer is connected directly with a network cable to the computer. However it is a 50ft cable. But the response from the computer to the printer is not a problem. That is pretty fast. The problem is on the printer itself taking long to respond on changing from one screen to another. for e.g I would click on the OK button on the touchscreen and the printer would take sometimes upto 10-15 second to respond. By then i may think i did not click on the OK correctly and I would touch it a few more times. SO when the next screen comes (after the delay) it has the unload button in the same position and the printer has assumed I clicked on unload as well and it will unload the substrate.

If the printing is set in maximum DPI or the 'best mode for printing' is selected, the printer may print slow. User must note that printing in normal mode or draft mode increases the printing speed.

#6 sorry maybe i was not clear in explaining the problem. The printing speed is not a problem. The slowness is on the printer touch screen. The screen does not change fast enough to allow me to pick the next action on the printer touch screen.
