So, how can I achieve awesome reslults with this paper? I'm on a Latex 310 with HP Flexi I've tried the profile "HP Photo Realisitic Poster Paper" with crappy results Also there is a profile "HP Photo Realistic Poster Paper 2" which does ok, but it's 16 pass and the ink doesn't seem totally cured, i.e. i can rub it off with my finger when it comes off the printer. What's the deal? Anyone have a similar experience? Should I just find a different material? Thanks!!! -Matt

Also, with the 16 Pass, some of the edges dont look crisp, and the gradients still have a little bit of a grainy look.

Thank you for the input. Sometimes, when printing using HP Photo Realistic Poster Paper on the Latex 300 Series Printers some issues could appear. Nowadays, we do not have any solution for this issue. Nonetheless, in the meantime we do have some new Latex Photo Papers that HP Media just released last year that you can use as a replacement. These are resin coated and print with a wide color gamut and incredible quality! There are 3 options: HP Everyday Satin Photo Paper (180g) HP Professional Satin Photo Paper (275g) HP Professional Gloss Photo Paper (275g) You can also learn more about these resin coated papers by watching this video.

If you have a grainy look, be shure that you set the media feed correctly. Specially on the machines without the OMAS sensor and without automatic feed adjust (310/330), a little vertical shift could lead to unsharp borders in media feed direction and some graining.

I almost ordered some of the HP Professional Gloss Photo Paper (275g) until both my supplier and HP tech people said that it has some problems on the Latex 310. Something about the vacuum not keeping it down, and the head hitting it. Users hang a "weight" on the media, or use the take-up to alieviate, but it makes me hesitate in purchasing. Care to comment? I would like a sample, but I'm told HP doesnt supply samples. And I've got this entire roll of Poster Paper... Looking at Sihl and other papers right now.

I'm not shure about the english menu language, but you should have a look on the print quality menu (were you clean or align the printheads). There must be a media feed section. Print the sample with grey columns, select the lightest column and place the value below that column in the media profile settings.

I think that the "english menu" path the TG-Frank is providing is the following: Main Menu -> Image Quality and Maintenance -> Substrate Advance Calibration

Hello, we have been able to print on HP Photorealistic paper with the temp at 180. The print looks scorched but it works (since we have lots of stock from the 260 we had previously). Issues with that paper and the Everyday Satin is that after the image is printed and goes under the curing section it warps upwards and scratches the image. haning a weight is a terrible fix as any shift could move the paper and cause a head strike. The only solution thusfar is manually holding down the material carefully and avoiding any contact with the curing section. Not very happy about it.

So in trying out this reccomeded new paper I and still seeing the same problems that the original Photorealistic paper had. The curing section will warp the print to the point that the ink drags on the curing unit. See Photo....
