HP800W Pop up system printing.

#1 SPT777 a year ago

When printing drops for a 'pop up' system we're having problems getting consistency across the individual drops. For example, two will join up but the third will be anything between 2-5mm out. It's almost as if the printer is printing a 'curved line' as opposed to a straight one. We've tried adjusting curing temperatures, inter pass delay offsets & take up tension but we don't seem to able to get consistency. Any help would be gratefully accepted!

Hi @SPT777,

It looks like the issue is related to a misalignment with the white drop printing with white, although it is not 100% clear from the description. If so, please perform the automatic alignment with colors and automatic alignment with white, following the suggestions from the attached document.

If the issue is related to the Tilling consistency:

  • Is this substrate brand on the media locator? If so, please download and use it.

  • Load the substrate, perform the media advance plot and choose the proper value.

  • If you are printing the Tilling applications, please increase the input tension to 12 or 15.

I hope it helps.

#2 Hi Daniella,

We are also having a similar problem. We are getting anywhere between 4mm-10mm of difference. We have used the suggested settings above but have also tweaked others as suggested by our supplier. The material is a Satin silver-back pop-up polyester film 300mic, and it has a profile which we are using but is no better. It's as if the material is slipping through the rollers even after all of our adjustments. Any help would be greatly appreciated
