Struggling on how to print my registration marks on a different machine (Konica Minolta) and use the Hp Cutter to die-cut a paper print.

Using the SAi Production Manager & SAi Flexi

Hello @wedomorethanprint

If I understood correctly, you want to print with our RIP in another non-HP printer, right? If that's the case, you will NOT be able with the RIP which is included in the box (with the HP L335), it ONLY accepts HP printers.

I hope this information helps

#1 You will have to upgrade your software from HP only to a Premium version. The upgrade path is shown here: https://www.thinksai.com/en-eu/hplatex

Please check with SAI for suitable versions and options for your work environment.

#2 Hi Sonia, What "wedomorethanprint" is struggling with is printing self adhesive vinyl on a small format digital printer (not using the hp RIP) and only cutting it on the hp latex cutter is there a quick and easy way? thanks Ronen

Hello,

Our workflow is: FlexiSAi +Hp Printer + HP Cutter (bundle Printer+Cutter).

If you are not using the HP printer, the HP rip and the HP cutter, than there is no way to control that works as decribed. If you need to cut on the HP cutter you need the HP RIP.

#6 Thanks for the reply, We have FlexiSAi +Hp Printer + HP Cutter but we and many more HP customers also have small format digital printers (Xerox, Hp indigo etc..) and we like print on the on the small format printers and cut on the HP cutter. Is there a preferred workflow for that? Thanks Ronen

Hi @Ronen_IL,

We do not have a recommended workflow or documentation on how to print on non-HP Latex printers and then cut using the HP Cutter solution.

However, if you print on a small format printer and then send the cutting job to the cutter using FlexiSai you should be able to cut the job successfully. This applies as long as the size of the printed job and the cutting job match, the media that you want to cut is supported by the cutter, and the cutter parameters are adjusted for that media.

#1 If it prints on a different machine then it is possible that it will create an error with HP cutter. learn about its working process From a facebook article or video. Then try to do accordingly. Probably this will solve the problem.
