potential problem with removing media while takeup reel is engaged

HP Latex 500 Series

Hello,

there is a potential problem with accidentically pressing the "remove" button and than rewinding and removing media while takeup reel is engaged/down and teh foil is already bonded to the empty roll.

The whole thing gets back into the printer, due to the foil is bonded to the take up reel there is a problem.

our bonding tape went up into the small rollers nearly breaking them up.

Solution: Disable the "Remove" Button when the tension bar is down (indication for a connection between roll and take-up roll) or make a 2are you sure to remove media?" Dialogue.

Hello @hub2000

Keep the substrate tightly wound on the roll throughout the loading and unloading procedures. To make sure that the roll stays tightly wound, consider using tape to stick the leading edge of the roll to the core just before removing the roll from the printer. You can keep the roll taped during storage. If the roll starts to unwind, it can become difficult to handle.

I am also attaching you the part of the HP Latex 500 Printer User Guide that might be of your interest to follow the steps.

I hope this information helps.

thank you for your answer. However this is not my problem.

There is a problem with accidentically pressing the "remove" button: The the machine rewinds the media while takeup reel was already engaged/down and the foil is already bonded to the empty roll.

The whole thing gets back into the printer, due to the foil is bonded to the take up reel there is a problem.

our bonding tape went up into the small rollers nearly breaking them up.

Solution: Disable the "Remove" Button when the tension bar is down (this is the evidence for the state " connection between roll and take-up roll).

I dont see a benefit or reason why the button "remove" is available when the tension bar is down.
