transporting a used R1000

We're considering purchasing a used R1000+ that is a 3hr drive from us. Having an HP tech "de-install" and reinstall is pretty costly. Is it crazy to think that we do this ourselves given the distance and time that the printer would be "down"?

Brian .. did you move it ? Was it easy ? I am trying the same but with a R2000

#1 I do know that there is special shipping hardware to lock things in place for shipping. Think there is a level of protection when HP moves one for you.
