Countour Cut After Laminating

#1 szweibohmer7982 3 years ago

I am needing to laminate my print from a Latex 335 (Print & Cut Solution) and having issues with contour cuts not being deep enough to weed after laminating. I tried this previously by laminating after printing and before cutting. Everything went fine, but when cutting after laminating the cuts weren't deep enough to weed. I am sure I can make these deeper by adjusting the knife in the cutter and/or through the menu of the cutter, but is there an easier way/method? I am newer to this, so any advice is appreciated.

Hi @szweibohmer7982,

I suggest setting the knife depth and pressure. You can do so using the main screen. You should: • Load the substrate in the cutter and set current knife pressure as shown on the screen. After having selected it, save it. • This will print a sample in which you can see if the depth suits the one you want. The knife depth is set correctly when the sample cuts completely through the vinyl. The blade should never cut through the backing; just slightly scratch the silicone coating and the first few fibers of the backing material. • Depending on the thickness of the paper you use, the depth must be adapted to it. If the substrate is thick, then more depth needs to be added to the adjustments. • When you find the depth you want, you can press twice the button to leave the knife pressure menu set.

If you are unable to find it, check the user guide here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05532650. You should go to the third part and follow the instructions provided on "adjusting cutting parameters" on page 18.
