PMS colors - not even close

HP Latex 300 Series

#1 MrPixelPuppy 5 years ago

Looking to print PMS colors and cant get even close. Printing on Latex 360 - Ripping with Onyx 12 - Ai file CMYK setup saved to a PDF with spot colors. I have tried printing PDF with color table look up and had no luck.
Tried plugging in CMYK values in color replacement and that didnt work.
Tried ICC colors on and 3M Matchprint.

What is the best process to ensure PMS colors from AI design file are translated properly thru Onyx to our Latex 360?

Hi @MrPixelPuppy,

This is a topic that requires fine-tuning, so my suggestion would be to contact your reseller for support in order to help you with specific needs and workflows.

Hope this helps, Warm regards.

We know that everything depends on the media you are using, that counts a lot on the fidelity of pantone. I did several tests, in one of my media did the standard creation of direct profile of the machine and got 60% of the PMS colors in fidelity. But many variables are all counts. In hp latex that the heads are thermal it can vary a lot until today I did not find a solution. I am also studying this possibility of color fidelity. But as I said are many variables and one of the things that most influence is print head wear and substrate white variation. Evaluate first of all whether your material has a white pattern.
