Re: Light Cyan / Light Magenta Printhead

Hi guys! I have an issue with the Light Cian / Light Magenta Printhead. Many times, the printer is working, but suddenly they fails, it does not matter how much i have use them. it happens even with printheads with 350 ml of use. I called several times to HP support, and they only gives a new printhead but not a real solution. Once upon, the printheads failed , and then i installed a new one, and the problem persisted, but i had not another new one, so i installed the old one wich failed, and in this time worked correctly, i tried to uses the new again, and it did not work correctly. does any one have an answer or a suggestion?

Hello @ejborkez I would need more information to be able to give you an answer about your issue. What kind of failure (error on the screen) does the printer says you are having? How does it affect you on the work? Do you have image quality problems? The more details you are giving to describe your issue on the forum the easier will be to with you give an appropriate answer. Hi Sonia! Like i wrote on the last post, the banding just apears with no previously warnings. On the printer does not apears any message even on the Onix appears all the components working correctly. I reviewed the page where i can find information by the ip of the printer but also there appears all the components working correctly. Although the printing result are not the best, because one of the Light Colors, Magenta or Cyan, does not prints. If you need more or an especific one information, just let me know it. Best regards!

Hello @ejborkez After Reading your post what it comes to my mind is: When you have issues with the PrintHead LC / LM, clean it (once or twice): Image-quality maintenance> Clean PrintHeads> Clean LM-LC Check / change the Maintenance Cartridge in case it has a fault and it does not make "capping" properly, making it to dry. Hello @HP-Sonia I saw your answer, but i have done the first option a lot of times, and sorry but it does not work. About the second option, what am i need to check on the maintenance cartridge?, How can i know if its working correctly? its a physical review? or are there some caracteristics that i need to find on the printhead or the maintenance cartridge? .

Hello @ejborkez My suggestion will be to change the Printhead and Maintenance cartridge at the same time. By, doing this you will make sure that everything is new and both of them (the maintenance cartridge and the Printhead) are correctly clean. Your issue may be Humidity. The Embedded Web Server information pages should tell you what the relative humidity is in the Printer. if it is below a 40% +/- 15% reading, then it is too low and might cause the issue you are experiencing. We have a client that gets this issue in the winter when the air is dry. He added a humidifier in his room and it appears to be better. Good Luck, RoyK

I will chek it. but i have a question about your explanation, if the issue is caused by humidity, why the problem is only caused on the printhead of light cyan and light magenta? hi guys! I share you one more thing. This week, i made one test. i have a printhead wich was working correctly, then i changed the light-cyan light magenta printhead for a new one only for make a test of another issue. when i finished it, i put the old one wich was working correctly but now does not work correctly. its interesting because the change only was for a few minuts and it was enough to produces an error. if anyone have some information it will be great!

Hello @ejborkez My suggestions would be to store the printhead box vertically, with the arrows pointing up. If the printhead is stored out of the printer for any reason, make sure the printhead is in an upright position with the cap facing up. This position ensures that the nozzles are pointing up. See the images below: Remember that the storage conditions same as printer non-operating: 25° C to 55 °C (-13° F to 131° F), and that you should shake vigorously the PrintHead before to install it. I would olso recommend you to whatch this video How to replace a printhead on the HP Latex 300 Series. If you have further problems even after you follow this suggestions, with one or two cleanings through the front panel of the affected PH (Options> Image-quality maintenance> Clean printheads) should be enough to recover it. Please let me know if you have been able to solve the issue.

Hi @HP-Sonia Thanks so much for your answer. But all the things that you told me, including the video, are parte of my routine when ist time to change a printhead. And as i wrote, when i made the printhead , the printhead was out of the printer just for few time (like 10 minutes), so, tell me if im wrong, i think if a printhead is working correctly and make a change of it for that time, there is not reason for have an issue when i put it into the machine again. am i wrong? For example, think about this escenary. I need to left the machine printing all the night. (is one of the characteristics that the publicity says about the machine), but i see that one of the printheads is near to be above of his garantee, (talking about mililiters). So, i think is a good idea to reemplace the printhead to ensurance the printing all the night will be free of banding or any issues. When i return the next day, i will try to put the printhead that was in the printer one day before, because although its guarantee will not be avaliable for a long time i have payed for it , and i want to use it all the time possible. But now, although i have made all the steps wrote on the manual or the printhead package, they dont works. And now im wondering, what "real advantage" am i have for be using this printer, because although there is not problem about its printing quality. The machine have many issues about its real capabilties. 1.- The "top speed" can not give good colors because i need to reduce the ink in order to be capable to have the correct curing on the media 2,. Many answers of the technichians are, "increase the steps numbers" wich means a slow printing, "decrease the ink amount" wich means poor colors So, like wrote another user of this forum, i feel along with all this issues, there is not a real solution of them. Although i have found many tips and information that have helped me so much, many of it are from other users, not from HP. I don like to sound complainer, because im not, but i really need to do some thing about it, that its the reason that i insist on all this thing. The only good thing of all this is im practising my english
