Screen Hangs In Cancelling Progress

#1 apcguam 2 years ago

I had to downgrade my Onyx back to Onyx 12 from Onyx 21 trial since no one at Onyx or HP can figure out the calibration issue. Onyx blames HP and says the internal spectrophotmeter is not capable of reading large patches of ICC and only limited to 500 some patches. They are absolutely wrong about that. So now I'm on Onyx 12 and doing a 160 patch color calibration. It read the black then yellow then magenta then part of the cyan then it cancelled on its own. Now it just stays on the cancel screen with the 3 dots and the blue dot showing progress. The only way to reset the machine is to force shutdown. Why does it cancel itself without finishing reading?

The latest HP Latex 370 firmware is installed.

Hi @apcguam,

Regarding the color calibration, it is important to take into account the following:

Only substrates at least 61 cm (24 in) wide can be calibrated. Generic substrates cannot be color-calibrated, although such substrates may be suitable for color calibration. You can color-calibrate clones of most generic substrates. The test chart is scanned by the HP Embedded Spectrophotometer. If the scan cannot be completed successfully, a message is displayed on the front panel (see the table of front-panel error codes in the user's guide).

If the error persists, please contact your support representative.
