800W and Pop-up Polyester Film

#1 marco13778 11 months ago

Hi, first time posting on the forum but we are having a bit of an issue printing Satin silver-back pop-up polyester film 300mic on our new 800W. We are using a profile from our supplier for the correct media but the machine is making our prints anywhere between 4mm-10mm longer than they should be. We have tried altering the settings for both the vacuum and input and output tension but to no success. Has anybody successfully printed Pop-up material similar to this or could share any helpful tips.

Thanks, Marco

Hi @marco13778,

The issue points to Media Advance inconsistency.

First of all, check the brand of the media and check if the OMS is in Media Locator or in "online search" (Substrate Library).

Also, check that the Pixart window is clean.

If the inconsistency of sizes is regular between them during the same print, try performing a calibration of the Substrate Advance Factor.

In the Main Menu click Substrate Library > Select the Substrate and print mode > Edit > Advance Settings > Print Advance Plot.

Once printed, locate the lightest column and insert the corresponding value. You could try to configure a Size Compensation from RIP, too.

If the inconsistency of sizes is not regular try to increase the input Tension, but not more than 15.

If problem persists, contact your support representative for advanced troubleshooting.
